May Round-Up: Sunshine, Family Yoga and Exciting New Beginnings

What a busy and exciting month May has been! A big focus for me this month has been completing my Kids Yoga Teacher Training with Susannah Hoffman at Triyoga. The Yoga Alliance-accredited course has been a fantastic experience and has equipped me with so much knowledge, inspiration and confidence. I learned an enormous amount throughout the training and I'm so excited to begin sharing everything I've learned through new classes and events that are currently in the planning stages.

I'm now fully qualified, insured and DBS checked, and I'm also booked onto a Paediatric First Aid course to ensure I'm as prepared as possible to support children and families safely.
Family Yoga on The Leas
One of the highlights of May has been teaching Family Yoga outdoors on The Leas in the glorious sunshine. A huge thank you to everyone who joined the sessions. I ran four sessions throughout the month and the feedback was incredibly encouraging. It was wonderful to see families enjoying quality time together outdoors, away from screens and distractions, in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

One of the themes that came through repeatedly in the feedback was how refreshing it felt for parents to be able to enjoy an activity with their children without pressure or expectations. One parent shared that they loved how there was no pressure for children to be quiet, sit still or follow every activity perfectly. Families were free to participate in their own way, creating a genuinely inclusive and relaxed atmosphere.
My favourite feedback, however, came from five-year-old Fearne. When her mummy asked if she'd enjoyed the session, she replied: "Yes, I had an awesome one." Honestly, I don't think I could ask for a better review than that!
The children's energy, curiosity and enthusiasm were wonderful. We explored yoga poses, breathing exercises, movement games and relaxation techniques together, and I had so much fun teaching them all.
Summer Solstice Family Yoga
I've also been busy planning a special Summer Solstice Family Yoga event and I'm delighted to say that tickets are now available. The event is free to attend, but booking is essential.
While the event is free, I will be welcoming optional donations from anyone who feels able to contribute. Any donations received will be passed directly to Project Peru, a charity doing incredible work supporting vulnerable children and communities in Peru.
I'm really looking forward to celebrating the longest day of the year together with movement, mindfulness and family connection.
Curious Club begins in June
June marks the launch of Curious Club, a new gentle walking group for children aged 2 – 6 and their grown-ups — designed to encourage mindful movement, creativity, curiosity and connection through slow outdoor exploration. I'm incredibly excited to see this new project come to life and can't wait to welcome the first families on June 19th You can find more details here:

Looking ahead
Away from work, we've had a wonderful half term enjoying the beautiful weather. One of the highlights was raising butterflies and watching them emerge and take flight. It felt like a little bit of everyday magic and a lovely reminder of growth, change and new beginnings.
As May draws to a close, I'm feeling incredibly grateful for all the support and encouragement I've received so far. There are lots of exciting things on the horizon and I can't wait to share them with you. Here's to June, new adventures, curious minds and plenty more yoga.
