A new chapter for cheekymono

Something new is unfolding at Cheekymono, and I’m really excited to share it...

After a few years of stepping back from teaching yoga to focus on my day job and family life, I’ve found myself returning to something that has always been at the heart of what I do: yoga, movement, and creative expression.

I'm currently designing a series of creative classes and events for children and families centered around movement and creative expression

This shift hasn’t been sudden. It’s come from a gradual realisation of what energises me and sparks joy for me and what matters to me. I've found that more and more I love to create spaces where my kids can express their artistic selves freely, move with confidence, and feel connected to their bodies, their breath, and each other.

Alongside being a mum, I’ve also been reflecting on how important it feels to support our children in navigating an increasingly uncertain world with creativity, calm and joy. I've been reflecting on the world our children are growing up in today, we’re living in an increasingly hostile, digital time, and I’ve been thinking a lot about what truly helps children feel grounded, confident and connected. One thing that feels especially important is how much creative learning, particularly art, has been squeezed out of the national curriculum. It’s something I’ve become increasingly aware of, and determined to respond to, especially as I’ve seen first-hand how vital creativity is for emotional expression, resilience and wellbeing in my own children.

I love setting up creative play for my two little monkeys, especially when it relates to a practice on the yoga mat.

Alongside this, yoga feels like a powerful and accessible way to support children in a different but equally meaningful way. It can bring joy, relevance and calm into their lives, helping them navigate physical, mental and social challenges while learning about their bodies, minds, emotions and the world around them. At its heart, yoga offers children space to explore kindness, friendship, confidence, resilience, equality and self-expression. For me, education is at the heart of social evolution and positive change. And I believe that when children are given access to creativity, movement and mindful tools early on, we are not just supporting their wellbeing, we are helping shape a more connected, compassionate world and future for all.

I’m a qualified Hatha yoga teacher, and I’m currently deepening my training in children’s yoga and mindful creativity for kids. This work has opened up a new direction for me, one that blends movement, imagination and emotional awareness in a really playful and accessible way.

Cheekymono is evolving to reflect this.

I’ll be curating events, workshops and classes designed for children and families in Sandgate, Hythe, Saltwood, Seabrook and Folkestone, offering moments to slow down, move together, and reconnect. These sessions are going to be about more than yoga and painitng; they’re about building confidence, encouraging expression, and strengthening community from the ground up.

You can now find all upcoming sessions and events on the event list here on the website, where I’ll be regularly adding new workshops and experiences.

I’m especially excited to be launching a series of free Family Yoga classes throughout May 2026. These sessions are designed for children and their grown-ups to move together, play together, and simply enjoy time in each other’s company in a supportive, relaxed space.

They're already live and available to book here:
